Have Your Say
Last June FUS submitted a petition to parliament with these demands:
1. Allow adult entertainment workers to collectively bargain as independent contractors
2. Outlaw fines and bonds between employers and contractors
3. Establish that venues can not take more than 20% of a contractors profits
The petition is now sitting with the Education and Workforce Committee within parliament. FUS, WorkSafe and Commerce Commission have all given submissions, and now FUS has been offered a final verbal submission to respond to the WorkSafe and Commerce Commission submissions. This will be our last speech to MPs on this petition, so if there is something you want us to raise- now is the time to let us know!
Linked below are the written submissions from WorkSafe and Commerce Commission for you to read. When submitting feedback please explain topics/ arguments/ experiences clearly to avoid misinterpretation. Submissions will need to be reworded to fit into the final speech.
TL,DR: FUS has the opportunity to give another speech in Parliament to respond to the submissions that have been presented. This is our last opportunity to speak on the petition that was presented last June. We are now collecting submissions from adult entertainment workers in Aotearoa to inform our final submission.
- You can participate in this process anonymously
- Don’t worry about the “quality” of your submission to us, we have to reword into one speech anyway so spelling/structure/tone is not something to stress about.
- Submissions on this form close 8th December
- Speech being presented in Parliament 11th December 1.15pm

Question suggestions for stuck brains:
-What do you want the government to know about what it’s like to work as a stripper in Aotearoa?
-Do you have a personal story that shows why strippers in Aotearoa need better workers rights?
