About Us

Who are we?
Fired Up Stilettos is a stripper led, grass-roots labour rights movement based in Aotearoa. Formed in response to years of injustice in the strip club, inspired by a rich history of sex worker activism, working for tomorrows 18 year old girls.
Our organizing team is made up of people who work/ have worked in many different industries under the red umbrella.
Our Objectives:
- Establish labour rights for adult entertainment workers through political action.
- Facilitate mutual aid to ensure defending labour rights is financially accessible for everyone across the workforce.
- Unite the workforce so that we can use the power of collective action to enforce our labour rights

How we started:
Once upon a time at Calendar Girls, it was dictated that the venue would now be taking at least 50% of all profit from strippers’ bookings.
37 of us signed a letter to the owner requesting that the cut remain at 40% to the venue (still not fair, but better than 50%)
19 of the 37 who signed the letter were fired via Facebook post,
and then we started a movement.
What we do:
- Work alongside strippers to support and resource union action within their workplaces.
- Develop and share resources to ensure strippers are aware of their legal rights as contractors.
- Host strip club takeover events to provide safe working spaces for strippers and demonstrate an industry standard.
- Campaign for the legislative changes necessary to protect adult entertainment workers in Aotearoa.
